Intellecta Corporate assumes the responsibility for Sida’s magazine OmVärlden in all digital channels. The assignment includes total responsibility for both the journalistic content and for the development of different digital distribution channels.
OmVärlden is the leading Swedish magazine for global affairs. After 44 years as a printed magazine, Sida now has the ambition to distribute OmVärlden’s content to a wider group by using digital channels only. An important part of Intellecta’s assignment is therefore to identify new target groups and increase the awareness and knowledge about international affairs by developing and optimizing the usage of digital channels for content, sound, photo and motion media.
– OmVärlden shall continue to be the leading magazine for global development and aid issues. We are looking forward to reaching more readers as OmVärlden is created and produced for digital platforms, says Sida’s communications manager Joachim Beijmo.
New editor-in-chief for OmVärlden is Erik Halkjaer, with vast journalistic experience from international reporting of human rights, international aid and social issues. Erik will head an editorial desk of Intellecta Corporate’s most talented journalists and specialists on digital development and social media as well as a number of freelancing reporters and photographers.
– This is a dream come true for a journalist who has devoted his time to aid and world issues for many years. OmVärlden has a long tradition of reporting from and scrutinizing the development politics, something I plan to continue. The biggest challenge is in reaching both old and new target audiences via the new digital channels, and that’s where Intellecta will be of tremendous help, says Erik Halkjaer.
